Where do you get your compost?
We are working with different compost vendors from WA and Oregon State. Compost supplied to us is only certified organic. We have considered other compost suppliers, but our current suppliers showed the best consistency which outperforms the other compost we tried. Due to the shipping, DOUBLE compost screening process and quality, this compost is more expensive.
What soil do you recommend for my garden?
We keep 11 mixes ready to go at all times. Our 10% mix is the recommended mix for yards, flower gardens, and other non fruit-bearing foliage. For fruit and less demanding vegetable gardens or fruit-bearing trees, we would recommend our 20% mix. If you're looking for a hotter mix, the special mix that we keep on hand is a great blend. For gardeners with more specialized needs, higher drainage, nutrients, etc., but would still like to feed, our coco coir mix or kelp mix would be perfect for you. Wildwood Conditioner is fantastic add on to almost any existing soil surface, and our Premium Gwen's mix is for those same gardeners, who are looking for a self-feeding, season long nutrient supply.
Can I create my own mix, AND EVEN IN OFF SEASON ?
Yes. We offer a wide variety of soil amendments for you to choose from, to add to any of our blends, or to create a whole new blend of your own creation. You can call us at 503-550-7733 to get a quote. Three (3) cubic yards is our minimum order for any customized mix and we can only use our bagged amendments. We will need 7-10 day notice, and full order prepayment. For all new soil batches or a truck load orders during our off season hours, full payment is required. If you “ CONFIRM YOUR ORDER” with us via email or text, your order will be considered scheduled for delivery, or pick up, and non-revocable and non-refundable. Customer is fully responsible and liable for the entire payment after commitment in any form of electronic communication with the Worm Farm Portland, Inc.
Can I get a discount on a bulk order?
We work with all of our customers to find a mix that fits with their needs and their budgets. Additionally, large bulk orders will receive a discount at the time of purchase.
How far do you deliver?
We can deliver anywhere in State of Oregon and southern parts of Washington State. Just contact us with your exact delivery address and we will quickly provide you with estimated delivery cost, including first available delivery day and 2 hr time window.
How far in advance should I place my order?
It will depend on a size of your order. We will usually have our standard soil mixes ready for pick up even a same day (varies on a season). For larger delivery orders, we strongly suggest calling us to check availability and timeframe to book your desirable delivery slot.
